Daniel Hauptmann (*1980 Hamburg) lives and works in Berlin. His work focuses on the hybridity of his own European-East Asian identity and the different cultures in which he grew up. Using a combination of everyday objects and building materials, the artist creates assemblages that unite elements from painting and sculpture. His works oscillate between smooth surfaces with sketched elements and large-format collages in which engravings and three-dimensional objects suggest landscapes.
